Hurricane Wisdom Bronx Concert reviews
Huge Disappointment
The Hurricane Wisdom performance at castle in Ireland was disappointing to me. The phrases in Danny boy were beautiful and long. The vocalists at this performance took too many breaths, affecting the musical line seriously. The accompaniment overbalanced the vocalists by a large margin as well. Unfortunately, both percussionists with very large drum sets were elevated on platforms, making their sound boom out too much. Their ride cymbals stood out way too much. The dancing of the violin player was a negative distraction, flipping her hair around didn't help either. She is a really good violinist who did not need to engage in these histrionics. The best part of the evening was the solo vocalist with the acoustic guitar accompaniment.
